  • Recap of Sunder's message:
    • Saul started well and then tanked
    • His Fatal Error(s) were:
      • Impatient Worship – we hurry…don’t take time with God
      • Utilitarian Worship –  tip of a hat –  a quick thanks and move on
      • Rationalistic Worship – when we change what God says to us…make it fit what works for us
      • Self Worship
        • Our image – how we present ourselves to people
        • Fear of man
        • Instant gratification
        • Distorted wisdom
  • When I reflect on when I start well and then tank is when I worry.  Which means I don't trust God.
  • This past week in Cadence we listened to Ben Stewart on Releasing Anxiety.
  • Phillipians 4:4 to 9
  • Release, Embrace, and Replace
  • In your small groups read the passage.  Do a lectio divina together and just talk about what stands out to you from the passage and how it relates to when we start well and then tank.
  • Not only do we have the peace of God, but the actual God of peace.  Like Saul who started well and had the spirit of the Lord with him.
  • Here's a video of my grandma is who is ending well (see attached)
Cheer up, ye saints of God.
There's nothing to worry about.
Nothing to make you feel afraid,
Nothing to make you doubt.
Remember, Jesus never fails,
So why not trust Him and shout,
You'll be sorry you worried at all tomorrow morning!
Organizational Announcements – Chris Tompkins
  • We have made a connection with a guest parent who works with Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit
    • He's been asked to personally review the Camp Guidance
    • He called me to ask if we have anything we want to make sure is on the agenda
    • I got to speak into the actual conversation that is happening on the provincial level
    • Called me with an update after and some insight into the conversation
    • Forwarded his own notes to me
    • Can't believe how God has gifted us with insight and relationships
    • It's a reminder to me how God continues to show us that He's here and is in control
    • He hasn't abandoned us, He is working on our behalf, He is with us.  Be encouraged by that.
    • He told me there is a massive appetite to open up and get back to normal.
    • The OCA won't review until Easter is a good sign…it's leaving space to ensure we are the most up to date and that we're on the trajectory for a much more normal life and experience at camp this summer.
  • We are now open
  • Small adult groups in winter and early spring
  • Still unsure what May and June look like.  We will keep you updated.
  • We continue to work towards a full summer and are hoping to open up to 100% capacity soon.
  • We are requiring everyone to update their Health and Safety Courses. HR will be in touch.
  • We are also requiring everyone to update their police checks.  It will be online through Plan to Protect.  HR will be in touch.
  • Those in the leadership training group, there is some homework to do.  Please look for the email from me on that and get that completed in a timely manner.
Have a good day!
